Michelle Obama Sets New Trend As First Lady
Last night America witnessed a history in the making as Barack Obama was elected our 44th President to the United States. He, his wife, and his two adorable daughters showed their enthusiasm to the 240,000 crowd waiting for them at Chicago’s Grant Park. But Barack wasn’t the only one making history.
His wife, Michelle, has defied the traditional look that the first lady has and decided to show America what her unique style is. While I am not a fan of Michelle I have to admit that her dress was stunning and tasteful. It was a dark lack and red dress.
Many people do not feel the same way that I do. Many bloggers all over the internet were not only shocked by the dress - but were very disapproving. I am sure that the older generation were looking for her to take on the traditional Jackie-O styled dresses - but let’s admit it - that is really out of date and very predictable clothing for the first lady.
It was a very bold statement that she was making in showing the world that she was ready to start a new trend and new look. “Michelle Obama made fashion history last night,” writes InStyle’s Katrina Szish. “America, get ready to see what a true modern style icon is all about.”
